To Ebike or not to Ebike? - The truth behind the electric bicycle experience. Darrvin Ebikes tours Cape Town #trip 1

Darrvin Electric Bicycles ... And it is a great lifestyle.

Many people do not have a hobby that brings them all the benefits of physical and spiritual release in one experience.

South Africa born Elon Musk’s company Tesla has created the hype around renewable energy and Tesla’s innovative electric cars and trucks are taking the world by storm.

It would be no surprise that electric bicycles are the new and upcoming trending sensation that satisfies the need for adventure, convenience and a great excuse to be outdoors rather than stuck behind the television or computer.

Our story starts with my uncle and I (avatar names) Jack and Rachel.

We are adults, 45 and 30 respectively, who have not touched a mountain bike in over 10 years. However, we stay in an area that is mountain bike trail haven.

So when we came across Darrvin E-Bikes, we knew it was a synergy that would create unforgettable adventures, and from our first ride through the mountains of Stellenbosch, we were not wrong!

Normally, riding up Helshootge, a 7km uphill, would be a nightmare for anyone who has not ridden a bike for years, hell it is quite a story for even the most fit riders.

With the Darrvin E-bike, you still get the jelly feeling in your legs because you are moving your muscles but the experience of “I can do this with an electric bicycle” makes the whole experience incredible and a craving for more.

We rode Darrvin’s Peak 2 Electric Bike - perfect for lovers of mountain biking and wanting to find a bike that is worth every penny.

Without the peddle assist powered by the electric motor, the ride would have been tiring and rather irritating but riding this insane route uphill with the Darrvin E-bike was a priceless experience that brought nothing but joy through its an intense adrenaline rush.

We cannot wait to show you all the next mountain bike journey. We will be cycling the Banghoek Conservancy route starting at Zevenriveren Estate and ending at Chilli Oil Restaurant, just outside Kylemore.
